This mission is to encourage every member to commit to the responsibility of doing their part to make sure that God’s house is full. We are to reach out into our communities far and near to help God’s most precious creation to live a fully balanced life.
The vision is to lead people from every walk of life into God’s house where there is abundant life.
Our History
Elder Shelbert Ramsey is the Founder of Faith Miracle Temple Church of God In Christ. He was inspired and ordained by Bishop Louis Henry Ford in August 1994. Elder Ramsey had suffered a near-death experience in April of 1990. During his recovery, God revealed the church name that he was to establish, “Faith Miracle Temple”.
Without hesitation, Pastor Ramsey started Faith Miracle Temple on August 8, 1994 in the basement of his home. The initial supporters included his wife Beatrice Ramsey and their four children, Stephanie, Dawn, Carolyn, and Shelbert Jr. The church was blessed with the support of the Hardy family, the Hunt family, the Linton family, and the Reese family. He was driven by God’s revelation that if people have the faith, God will do the miracles. In 1997, God blessed the Faith Miracle Temple family with the facility located at 4258 W. Iowa, Chicago, IL. Through many hard trials, such as a fire that burned the facility to the degree that we were unable to worship in it for a year, Pastor Ramsey and the Faith Miracle Temple church family stayed together and prayed through.
Today, we continue the walk of faith looking to Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith. We are so grateful for all who have crossed our path during the years that God has allowed us to work in the ministry.
Our Pastors
Shelbert Ramsey Pastor
Shelbert Ramsey was born in St. Louis Missouri and was raised on the west side of Chicago.
Shelbert Ramsey completed his courses in Ministry and Bible Teaching and was ordained by Bishop Louis Henry Ford August 1994. He went on to established Faith Miracle Temple on August 8, 1994, in the basement of his home. The initial supporters included his wife Beatrice Ramsey and their four children, Stephanie, Dawn, Carolyn and Shelbert Jr. The church was blessed with the support of four other families. The Hardy family, the Hunt family, the Linton family, and the Reese family. Pastor Ramsey was driven by God’s revelation that if people have faith, God will do the miracles.
Elder Ramsey suffered a near-death experience in April of 1990. During his recovery, God revealed the church name that he was to establish, “Faith Miracle Temple C.O.G.I.C.” Pastor Ramsey has served a Bible Teacher for more than 40 years and a Pastor for 25 years.
Beatrice Ramsey First Lady
Beatrice Ramsey was born in Cleveland Mississippi and was raised on the west side of Chicago. She has been married to Pastor Ramsey for more than 40 years. Beatrice received her Bachelor’s Degree in business from the University of Phoenix and serves as a Teacher for Adult Bible classes, as well as a Sunday School Teacher. Beatrice also serves as the head of the Women’s Department at Faith Miracle Temple. She also evangelizes as God permits.
